10 First-Time Homebuyer Mistakes

Hello!
My name is Andre Houle and I am a mortgage broker with Dominion Lending Centres Maximal Mortgages in St. Albert, Alberta. I have been a mortgage broker for 17 years, with 20 years total in the financial services industry. Who knew that starting as a bank teller would lead me to this!
I currently reside in Morinville, Alberta, and have the only standalone broker office within the community…because my wife says I can’t work from home.
I have been married for 20 years, to my wife Lisa (she’s the best!), and we have two amazing daughters that are the highlight of my life. Now that I think of it, dealing with a nearly teenage daughter has become a challenging endeavour, did I mention they were amazing? My wife and I have had some interesting bumps in the road during our marriage that has changed the way I live my life and do business (think bumpy cactus field full of rocks kind of bumpy).
We’ve gone through many of the things most people go through in their lives, but we’ve also managed to deal with pediatric cancer, affecting our youngest child when she was 6 years old, and all that accompanies treatment. We’ve also lost a younger sibling to cancer recently, and have dealt with many of the fallout's associated with losing a young mom, sister and daughter. The past 4 years have certainly been challenging for us.
I take many things into consideration, now that I’ve experienced life and all of its intricacies. I have a unique understanding, especially regarding the financial aspects in life, especially when it comes to the unexpected.
